CASE STUDY · B2B LINKEDIN ADS

Every masterclass booking now traces back to the ad that caused it. Not just “a conversion happened.”

WUA is a Digital Customer Experience benchmarking and market intelligence agency in Amsterdam. To get more from LinkedIn Ads, we built an event-level conversion tracking framework in LinkedIn Campaign Manager — separate tags for masterclass event bookings and B2B lead form submissions, so campaign attribution and ROAS optimisation finally had clean signals to work with.

THE PROBLEM

High-value bookings were happening. LinkedIn could not see which ad caused them.

High-value masterclass sign-ups had no direct conversion linkage in LinkedIn Campaign Manager, so the platform could not optimise for event attendees. Broad site-wide pageview tags created tracking noise, blending low-intent content downloads with sales-ready leads, and disconnected triggers obscured which ad creatives and targeting were actually producing masterclass bookings.

WHAT WE DID

Tag the high-intent actions first. Then clean out the noise.

An event-specific conversion architecture built and verified inside LinkedIn Ads Campaign Manager.

01
◎

High-intent event tagging

Dedicated event-specific conversion actions for the interactions that matter: Masterclass Event Booking under the Book Appointment category to record real-time registrations, and Lead Form Submit under the Lead category to capture direct CX consultation enquiries.

02
↗

Campaign Manager hierarchy & clean-up

Primary lead goals were separated from broad content engagement using event-driven tags, with site-wide tags reserved strictly for interactions like whitepaper downloads. Legacy and redundant tracking tags were reviewed and deactivated so nothing was counted twice.

03
◇

QA testing & signal verification

Tag firing was validated across the live masterclass booking flow using LinkedIn Tag Assistant and real-time event debugging, and every primary conversion action was confirmed active, healthy and transmitting verified lead data.

This engagement was about attribution quality rather than a single campaign’s numbers. With every masterclass booking and consultation request captured back to a specific LinkedIn campaign, the bidding algorithm receives clear, un-duplicated signals for high-intent B2B decision-makers — and reporting separates high-value appointment bookings from secondary whitepaper downloads.

THE SHIFT

From untraceable sign-ups to campaign-level attribution.

Before this engagement, high-value masterclass registrations could not be linked back to the ads that produced them, and broad site-wide tags blended content downloads with sales-ready leads. We built event-specific conversion actions, separated primary lead goals from content engagement, deactivated redundant tags and verified every signal live.

LinkedIn went from counting activity to knowing which ad booked the appointment.

Note: this engagement covered LinkedIn Ads conversion tracking architecture and verification. Campaign spend and performance figures are not published here.
